I also teach Shaw Method Swimming. This method was founded by Steven Shaw, a teacher of the Alexander Technique and
an ex-competitive swimmer. In the 1980s he developed a unique approach to swimming using the principles of the Alexander Technique.
Since then thousands have benefitted from this method. It is suitable for all who want to improve their relationship with the water – from non-swimmer to triathlete. By addressing the habitual way we move in the water, it also works very well for those with long standing issues such as back and neck pain, fear of water or poor mobility.
The Shaw Method can help relieve great stress as well as improve fitness and above all enjoyment of being in the water – a most therapeutic medium to work in.
